Biography

The Hopson Firm’s founder, Attorney Douglas Hopson, has a 25-year career handling a wide range of personal injury matters including traffic accidents, police brutality, nursing home neglect, slip and falls, product liability, and medical malpractice.  He is highly respected amongst his peers and is considered a leading authority in the area of personal injury law.  Mr. Hopson’s advice is often sought by attorneys throughout the Chicagoland area and he always approaches every legal issue with the goal of putting the client’s needs first.

Mr. Hopson is very proud of the fact that he can deliver the highest level of legal services to people of any economic status.  He remembers as a child he would often hear adults complain about being unable to afford the best attorneys because they simply did not have the money.  As a personal injury lawyer, Mr. Hopson has always appreciated that he can focus on his client cases and never ask for money along the way.  His clients only pay, when Hopson wins.  That’s the way it should be.

Mr. Hopson’s commitment to the highest standards of service began many years ago when he joined the United States Marine Corp.  After having received numerous honors and completing his service, he focused his attention on obtaining a quality education.  Thirty years after the Marine Corp., Mr. Hopson still puts hard work and service first.  That’s why he’s never surprised when he wins cases that other lawyers refused to take on or when former clients track him down after 20+ years of contact.  He never believed that being a lawyer was a privilege.  Instead, it’s a responsibility.  That responsibility has translated into millions of dollars recovered for his clients.

As for the next chapter of his career, Mr. Hopson is very pleased that his daughter, Hannah, has joined him in “the fight”.  He expects her to bring the same passion and commitment to the practice of law that she has observed her entire life.  As long as the needs of his clients are met, he will continue to enjoy free time with family, playing golf, and training young lawyers.
